Family, Dogs, Safe After New Britain Fire

When Kyle Dantzler, 11, smelled smoke on Tuesday morning, he alerted his aunt and uncle, who were home with him.

They called 911 and were able to get their two dogs and seven puppies out safely too.

Fortunately, the damage to 80 Norton St., in New Britain, is not too extensive and the residents will be able to get back into their home, firefighters said.

Most of the damage was to the upper floors.

The fire broke out in the walls and firefighters opened walls and the attic to ensure the fire was out.

The fire marshal will investigate the cause, which might be electrical, officials said.
