Family of Attacked Trinity Student Offers Reward

Chris Kenny's family said his condition is approving.

Trinity College Sophomore Christopher Kenny was walking along Allen Place in Hartford with a friend early on the morning of Sunday, March 4 when five people jumped out of a car and beat him.
Police have not yet made any arrests and Kenny’s family is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the people responsible.

Kenny was hospitalized after the attack with a broken jaw and cheekbone.  He was released on Tuesday, March 6 and is home recovering from his injuries.

Kenny’s father told school officials that Chris’ condition is improving and he is looking forward to returning to campus.

Hundreds of students rallied on campus on Thursday in the wake of the brutal attack on a fellow student. Many wore T-shirts and bracelets in support of their friend and said crime on or near campus is not uncommon.

Students are not only angry about the attack, they are angry at the school’s response to the attack. One student said Chris' mother was not contacted until the next day and Chris is the one who made the call.

“That is very, very unfortunately true," James Jones Jr., president of Trinity, said, and called it a "breakdown in communication."

Trinity plans to hire 10 new security officers to patrol the campus, possibly as early as next week, according to Jones.

Hartford police continue to search for the three women and two men who are suspected of attacking Kenny.
