43-Year-Old Man Dies in Route 9 Hit-and-Run

A 43-year-old New Britain man was killed on Monday morning when he was struck by a vehicle on Route 9.

Robert Paul was walking on the northbound side of the highway around 4:30 a.m. when he was struck, police said. Police said the vehicle fled the scene.

State police say debris at the scene indicates the vehicle that hit Paul was blue or teal and has headlight damage.

Route 9 northbound was closed at Exit 28 in New Britain and the road reopened around 8 a.m.

Police in Southbury are investigating a fatal crash on Route 67. It happened just after 6 a.m. and Route 67 was closed between Route 67 and Kettletown Road.
