A 35-year-old east Hartford man died after being shot inside an East Hartford apartment building Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Police responded to 269 Main St. around 3:30 p.m. after receiving a 911 call reporting a fight and “popping sounds.”
There, police found William Castillo on the floor of the kitchen inside one of the apartments, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Hartford Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. As of Wednesday morning, police were investigating it as a homicide.
The Office of the Chief State's Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy to determine an exact cause of death.
