Father Charged in Death of 4-Month-Old

Logan Parker was arrested Thursday in connection with his son's July 2010 death.

A Killingly father has been charged with the death of his 4-month-old son.

State Police arrested Logan Parker, 36, Thursday.

Emergency dispatchers received a 911 hang-up call from Parker's home at 136 Bear Hill Road on July 23, 2010. When dispatchers called back, Parker told them his son, Reed Parker, was having trouble breathing. The baby was taken to Day Kimball Hospital in critical condition and was then transferred to UMass Medical Center in Worcester, Mass.

The 4-month-old died the next day. An autopsy done by the Massachusetts Medical Examiner's Office ruled the baby's death a homicide.

After a lengthy investigation, police charged Logan Parker with first-degree manslaughter, first-degree assault and risk of injury to a minor.

He appeared in Danielson Superior Court Friday and was released on $250,000 bond.
