Fire at Used Car Shop In Fairfield

Neighbors originally said the owner was inside the building.

When firefighters arrived at a used car shop in Fairfield shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday to extinguish a fire, neighbors said the owner was inside the building.

They searched the entire building but found no one inside. Dispatchers were able to track down the owner of Pulver Motors through phone records and had him report to the scene of the fire.

Fire damaged several vehicles. A van next to the building was on fire and two other vehicles were damaged by flames. A 2003 Ford van was completely destroyed by the fire.

Crews were able to contain the fire and limit damage to the building and no one was hurt,

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

“Fortunately, no one was injured during this fire and the majority of the fire damage was confined to the outside of the building, saving the owners business and personal belongings,” Assistant Chief Scott Bisson said.
