Fire Damages Home in Middletown

A fire broke out in a house in Middletown on Saturday morning.

Firefighters responded to the 2-alarm fire at 1580 Bartholomew Road and brought the fire under control in about 25 minutes, according to fire officials.

The house suffered significant damage mostly to the back of the structure.

Emergency crews from surrounding areas were called to the scene with tanker trucks to help provide water because there were no hydrants in the area, officials said.

No one was home at the time of the fire, according to fire officials.

The occupants of the home will not be able to stay in it due to the amount of fire and smoke damage.

Middletown's fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
