Fire Destroys Barns in Norwich

The fire started on Old Canterbury Turnpike around 1 a.m

Three barns have been destroyed by fire in Norwich.

The fire started on Old Canterbury Turnpike around 1 a.m. on Thursday.

The fire was in what officials are calling a mostly abandoned farm. Hay was stored in one barn. The other two were empty.

Firefighters originally tried to knock down the fire, but let it burn in a controlled manner because most of the contents were hay.

No one was injured.

The cause is not known and firefighters said there is no connection between this fire and the fire at a house on the same street on Wednesday.
