The sidewalk in front of the City Place skyscrapers in Hartford is closed as firefighters investigate reports of snow and ice falling from the buildings, police said.
Firefighters responded to City Place 1 and II around 9 a.m. to investigate.
One of the buildings is 25-stories tall, while the other is at least 15-stories tall and the front of at least one of the skyscrapers is cordoned off with caution tape. The sidewalk is closed on the Pearl Street side.
Falling ice is a concern in cities and towns across the state.
South Windsor Police Chief Matthew Reed tweeted out a photo of icicles on Monday and issued a warning.
"Tell the kids to stay away from these. They're heavier than you think and can cause serious injury," Reed tweeted.
