The NBC Connecticut meteorologists have issued a First Alert for today for heavy rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds.
A flash flood warning has been issued for parts of Tolland and Windham counties through 3:15 p.m. Flash flood watches are in effect for Fairfield and New Haven counties.
The rain moving through today is what is left of Florence.
The rain will be heaviest during the midday into the afternoon.
We're forecasting one to four inches of rain here in Connecticut with the heaviest rain and highest rainfall totals positioned to our north in Massachusetts.
The exact track of the storm will determine just how much rain falls. The chance for strong thunderstorms is also not out of the question as the area of low pressure crosses the area.
The area of low pressure will be quick moving and move out by this evening. Behind the storm is a beautiful stretch of weather for Wednesday and Thursday as high pressure builds in with highs in the 70s.
