First responders in New London had to rescue several people who got stuck in their cars during flooding on Bank Street Monday.
A flood advisory and flash flood warning were in effect for New London County Monday evening as severe storms with heavy rains moved through.
Drivers are warned to never try to travel through standing water – flood waters can rise quickly and become dangerous.
New London police said a challenging night was made worse by the fact that the storms knocked out their radios.
