The last time anyone saw Shamia Smith alive was in March 2007. In April of that year, her charred remains were found in Stafford and the man who lived on that property was convicted last year.

Early next month, "Forensic Files" will feature the case of the slain exotic dancer in an episode called "Best Foot Forward."

East Hartford police provided the show description

A voicemail message blows the case wide open and takes investigators on a bizarre journey to a shocking crime scene and helps nail a suspect who works overtime to cover his tracks.”

Kenneth Otto was convicted of the crime. He and Smith met at Kahoots.

in Vernon, police said. He admitted to police that he was dating Smith, but denied killing her.

In April 2007, police found her remains, including a tooth, pieces of bone and part of a foot on Otto’s property. He was arrested in May 2007 at Bradley Airport. He was carrying a passport and $10,000.
