Former New Britain Resident Vies for Spot on “The Voice”

It's down to the wire on NBC's "The Voice," and former New Britain resident Anita Antoinette took her talents back to the stage Monday night in hopes of coming out on top.

The soulful singer with reggae roots spent her early years in Kingston, Jamaica, before heading to Boston and later, New Britain. Antoinette has worked with coach Gwen Stefani for weeks to develop her talent and is one of Team Gwen's three remaining competitors.

She sang her way into the Top 12 last week and took the stage again tonight with Bob Marley's "Redemption Song" in an effort to win America's vote and make it through to the next round.

Antoinette is one of two contestants with Connecticut ties. Hamden High School graduate Blessing Offor was eliminated during the knockout rounds earlier this season.
