Four Hospitalized After Cromwell Fire

Officials said the three children and one adult who went to the hospital did not need to be rescued from the fire.

Four residents in Cromwell went to the hospital to be evaluated after a house fire just after 11 p.m. on Monday.

A 13-year-old boy who had just finished showering in the residence on the second floor noticed smoke and flames coming from the floor porch and alerted his parents, according to the news release from Cromwell police.

The boy's mother alerted the residents on the first floor of the house at 466 Main St.

The mother and her three children went to Middlesex Memorial Hospital as a precaution to be treated for smoke inhallation, police said.

All six residents made it out of the two-family house.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but the fire marshal said it does not appear to be suspicious, police said.
