Fugitive From Puerto Rico Caught in Waterbury

The suspect was considered one of Puerto Rico's most wanted.

A fugitive considered one of Puerto Rico's most wanted was arrested in Waterbury.

Waterbury police say they got a tip from the San Juan Police Department Thursday that Jamie Nadal-Gonzalez was possibly staying in an apartment at 108 Central Avenue.

Nadal-Gonzalez was wanted for a double murder in Puerto Rico in April, according to Waterbury police.

Officers went to the home and found the suspect in a first floor apartment, police said. They arrested him without incident.

Nadal-Gonzalez was charged in an April 12 stabbing in the parking lot of San Juan's La Concha Resort following an altercation that authorities say involved drugs and prostitutes.

He appeared in Waterbury Superior Court Friday and was held on fugitive from justice charges. He faces extradition to Puerto Rico where he will be tried for the double murder.
