Getting Lucky on Day One, a Lotto Tale

One lucky person in Connecticut is $250,000 richer on the very first Mega Millions drawing held in Connecticut.

That's the highest amount you can win, unless you are actually the jackpot winner.

As of Wednesday night, the winner had not come forward and lottery officials are not making a peep on where the winning ticket was sold.

In case it's you and you don't know it: the winning numbers for Tuesday's drawing were: 6, 7, 26, 27 and 49. The Mega Ball was 9, and the Megaplier was 4.

In all, 5,629 people in Connecticut won something on the game. Some just $2, others as mush as to $10,000.

"It's exciting to have had so many winners, and a 'big' winner, in our first-ever Mega Millions drawing,"  Anne M. Noble, CT Lottery
President and CEO, said. "Customers have long asked for the opportunity to purchase Mega Millions tickets, and we're pleased that this multi-state game is now available locally."

No one won the top prize of $12 million in Tuesday's drawing. That means Friday's jackpot is $20 million.
