Gov. Malloy Orders Flags at Half Staff

Gov. Malloy has directed all U.S. and state flags to fly at half-staff to honor the victims of the shooting at the Washington Navy Yard.

Malloy issued the order in response to a proclamation issued Monday evening by President Barack Obama.

The flags will fly at half staff until sunset on Sept. 20.

In a statement, Gov. Malloy offered the state's deepest condolences.

"Our hearts go out to everyone who was affected by this morning's shooting at the Washington Navy Yard," Malloy said. "On behalf of the people of Connecticut, we offer our deepest condolences and will keep the victims of this senseless tragedy in our thoughts and prayers."
