Bradley International to Debut Daily Nonstop Flights to Los Angeles: Gov

Bradley International Airport will debut daily, nonstop flights between Connecticut and Los Angeles, Gov. Malloy and the Connecticut Airport Authority (CAA) announced on Wednesday.

"This new flight further connects us to the world," Malloy said. "Our future as a state is linked directly to our transportation system...This announcement is indeed another step forward for Connecticut."

Starting on Jun. 2, American Airlines will operate a daily flight to Los Angeles schedule to leave Bradley at 7:00 am and arrive in California at 10:00 am. Inbound flights will depart Los Angeles at 9:00 pm and arrive in Connecticut at 5:20 am.

Tickets will go on sale on Jan. 23.

The announcement comes as Malloy aggressively pushes his $30 billion transportation plan for the state. The American Airline LAX leg follows the CAA's recent launch of services to Denver and before the anticipated nonstop flight to Dublin starting in September.

Senator Richard Blumenthal supported the new daily flight route to Southern California.

"This new direct flight from Bradley to Los Angeles will be a major boom to Connecticut," Blumenthal said. "Boosting tourism and providing our businesses and residents with expanded, convenient cross-country transportation options."
