Grandchild was a passenger in the car when she was arrested.

Glastonbury police have charged a grandmother with DUI for allegedly driving drunk with her grandchild in the car.

Officers arrested Lorraine Fote, 57, of Wethersfield on Thursday.

Witnesses called police after seeing Fote driving erratically through the parking lot at Barnes & Noble on Glastonbury Boulevard around 1:30 p.m. She hit several curbs and a parked car in the parking lot, according to police. Her grandchild was a passenger in the car, police said.

Fote is charged with DUI and risk of injury. She was released on $15,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Wednesday.
