Gun-Wielding Man Robs Couple With Car Trouble

Police are searching for the gun-wielding man who robbed a couple having car trouble in New Haven.

According to police, a woman pulled over near the intersection of State Street and Blatchley Avenue when her engine light went on Thursday evening.

A man in the passenger seat got out to check under the hood and as he returned to the car, a man with a pistol approached and pointed the gun at him, according to police.

Police said the suspect tried getting into the car and made off with the keys and one of the victims' cellphones.

The suspect is described as a young, dark-complexioned man, about 20 years old, between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feet tall. Police said he was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt black-and-white lettering across the front, jeans, sneakers and white baseball cap and was armed with a revolver.
