Hamburger Tossing Principal Resigns

A West Haven High School assistant principal struck a student in the face with a burger.

A West Haven High School assistant principal resigned tonight after allegations arose that she threw a hamburger at a student in May.

Assistant Principal Patricia Whitney resigned in front of the Board of Education during an executive session tonight. The board accepted Whitney's resignation.

In May, Whitney allegedly threw hamburger at the face of female student after the student had thrown the burger at her. The burger struck the student in the face.

Whitney has been on paid administrative leave since the incident.

Whitney has been in trouble in the past, receiving warnings about leaving work too early and for insubordination.
