Police have arrested the man accused of robbing a Hamden bank Friday afternoon.
With help from the New Haven Police Department, Salvadore Edwards, 33, of Hamden was arrested Friday evening and charged with first-degree robbery and third-degree larceny, according to Hamden police.
Edwards is accused of robbing the First Niagara Bank at 1248 Dixwell Avenue at 4 p.m. Friday. He gave the bank teller a note demanding money.
Police found him soon after on Ella Grasso Boulevard and seized evidence pertaining to the case. The department is holding him in custody on a $250,000 bond and he is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Feb. 23.
He was also charged with violation of probation on two outstanding warrants.
