Hamden Schools Following “Stay Put” Protocol After Threat

All Hamden schools are following “stay put” protocols as police investigate a threat.

Police said they responded to Hamden High School just before 10 a.m. to investigate a report of a threat and the preliminary investigation has revealed that the Hamden High School administration and the Hamden Board of Education received several threatening e-mails.

School officials said the threat received this morning was against “Hamden High School and other non-identified locations.”

“To ensure that we take all necessary precautions all of our schools are currently following "stay put" protocols,” an email from school officials said.

Police said no one is allowed to enter or exit the school. When necessary, police are escorting students and staff members in and out of the school.

The Hamden Police Department Detective Division is investigating and police are maintaining high visibility at all public schools.
