Hammer Attack Victim Out of Hospital

Teen victim had to have part of his skull removed.

The parents of a teenager severely beaten with a hammer want to know why the attack happened.

Randy Breton is wanted for allegedly assaulting three people, including 18-year-old Sean Logan, with a hammer last week.

"He had to have part of his skull removed. He had skull fragments removed from his brain," said Melissa Logan, Sean Logan's mother.

Logan was staying with his girlfriend and his girlfriend's mother on Columbus Avenue in New Britain when the assault occurred. Breton, 41 barged into the home around 6:45 a.m. Dec. 29, according to police. Breton is the ex-boyfriend of the 36-year-old female victim in the house, police said. The woman, and her daughter were not as seriously injured as Logan.

"It's beyond repair. He now has titanium mesh instead of a skull," Melissa Logan said from her home in Rhode Island. Sean Logan was released from the hospital this week, his mother said.

After the attack, Breton fled in a tan 2002 Chevrolet Venture van with Rhode Island license plate #679454. The van has a replacement Oldsmobile rear hatch door, police said. He has not been seen since the morning of the attack.

Police ask anyone who sees Breton to stay clear of him and to call 860-826-3000.
