Hartford Man Fires Shots Through BMW Sunroof

A Hartford man is facing charges after getting into an argument with the mother of his child and firing a gun as he drove off, according to police.

Julio Levy, 36, of 58 Sharon Street, was arrested just before 7:30 p.m. Friday following the report of shots fired on Adams Street, police said.

Officers arrived at the scene to find three shell casings in the road. Investigators determined that Levy had fired three shots through his sun roof while driving away from a domestic dispute with the mother of his child, according to police.

They arrested Levy at his home and charged him with unlawful discharge, first-degree reckless endangerment and breach of peace.

Levy was found with a Beretta 9mm pistol in his waistband. The magazine was missing three rounds, authorities said. Levy did have pistol permit.

Major Crimes Division Domestic Violence detectives are investigating.
