Hartford police are investigating an assault that happened overnight at 1 Sigourney Square Park.
Police responded to a shots fired call shortly after midnight. The victim, an adult male, told police that he was “rolled” by 10-12 males all wearing white T-shirts.
The victim was transported to St. Francis Hospital at 4:19 a.m. with a gunshot wound to the upper left back and shoulder area. The wound was caused by a small caliber bullet which will not be removed at this time.
The victim told police that he could identify at least one of the assailants, though he is not sure if it is the person who shot him. The major crime unit was dispatched to the scene.
The investigation is still underway.
