All the rain Wednesday made it difficult for the Gales Ferry post office to stick to that whole "Neither rain, nor sleet..." thing.
The building's roof caved-in, thanks to heavy rains and an ongoing construction project.
So until further notice, the post office is closed. There's no timetable for the repairs, but it will be closed for severaal days.
So here's the change of address from the post office: Those who are used to picking up their mail at Gales Ferry's post office should head to the Ledyard Post Office, at 764 Colonel Ledyard Highway.
There were no injuries to anyone in the collapse.
And don't worry, the mail itself remains dry and intact.
