Heavy Rain Peters Out Sunday Night

The heavy rain that dominated the state Sunday will peter out as we move into the evening, with a drier Monday in sight.

Temperatures Sunday hovered in the 40s as soaking rains moved through.

Parts of the statesaw over an inch and a half of rain. As of 5 p.m., Bridgeport had seen rainfall of 1.22 inches, beating out the old record for the day of 1.05 inches.

The rain continues through the evening and begins to clear up Sunday night, making way for a blend of clouds and sunshine Monday. Winds will pick up Monday evening, helping to dry everything out.

Temperatures will remain warm, hovering in the high 30s and breaking into the 40s the first half of the week.
