Here are some of Heidi's thoughts on her time in school:

Who was your favorite teacher and why?

It’s hard to choose because I had so many great teachers in Milford public schools and my New Haven arts magnet school. One that stands out is Mr. Bruce Bednarski aka “Mr. B,” our middle school music teacher who encouraged me and my friends to start an all-girl rock band in middle school and cheered us on all the way. He was so funny and enthusiastic and encouraged us to be different.

What was your favorite subject in school and why?

English; I always loved reading and writing!

What was your favorite school supply and why?

Backpacks! They were basically part of our identity back in the 90s! We used to draw on them with white out and markers and decorate them with buttons and patches from bands we’d see at shows.

What was your favorite extracurricular activity?

I went to two high schools at the same time; every day after academics I took a bus to an arts magnet school in New Haven where I majored in Theatre. We put on several plays a year and I absolutely loved it.
