Hey Kids, Golf With the Pros

Kids with dreams of becoming the next Tiger or Annika Sörenstam have a chance to play with the big boys and girls.

The Travelers Championship will add a pro-am for kids this year. That gives 36 junior golfers a chance to play with the pros at the PGA Tour stop.

The kids, from Connecticut and Western Massachusetts, will earn a spot in the June 23 event by participating in charity fundraisers or by submitting a letter to the tournament director that explains why they should be selected.

Once those letters come in, four players will be picked.

That is actually similar to the way PGA pros request exemptions into the actual tournament, which will be held in Cromwell at the TPC River Highlands course.

The pro-am is open to both boys and girls between ages 10 and 18. Those selected will play nine holes with the PGA Tour pros.
