House Fire in New Hartford

Firefighters were called to 313 Cotton Hill Road just before 9 a.m.

A New Hartford home is a total loss after fire ripped through it Friday.

Firefighters from five towns responded to 313 Cotton Hill Road just before 9 a.m.  A neighbor noticed smoke and called 911.

Crews had to truck water to the area because there were no fire hydrants nearby.

No one was home at the time of the fire, but rescuers saved two dogs from the house, according to fire officials.

One firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion.
