Sen. Dodd Receives Human Rights Award

Each person can make a difference.

That's the message from Senator Chris Dodd after getting the Temple Bnai Israel 100th Anniversary Human Rights Award for his work and his family's against anti-Semites and in human rights, the Norwich Bulletin reports.

Dodd's father, the late Thomas J. Dodd, served as a staff lawyer and was a prosecutor at the Nuremberg trials

Dodd also used the visit as a chance to read excerpts from the letters his father sent to his mother during the trial which he turned into the book "Letters from Nuremberg," according to the Bulletin.

The Willimantic temple, established in 1909, also held its annual Yom Hashoah Service this weekend to remember those who died in the Holocaust and those who worked to save them.
