Hundreds Line Up For Free Dental Clinic

Hundreds of people camped outside the XL Center in Hartford overnight for the chance to get free dental care through the Connecticut Mission of Mercy Project.

The 7th annual, two-day free clinic is expected to treat more than 2,200 people today and on Saturday.

The clinic, staffed by more than 1,500 volunteers, will provide a full range of dental services on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 6 am on both days.

Many people waited in line for almost 24 hours to receive dental care.

Since the first Connecticut Mission of Mercy dental clinic in 2008, more than 11,000 patients have been treated and $6 million in free dental care has been provided.
