A state police trooper was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation after a car hit his parked cruiser on Interstate 395 southbound in Putnam Tuesday morning, according to police.
State police said the trooper was parked on the highway near exit 96 when he was struck by another car. The highway was shut down while authorities responded to the scene.
