Cow Slaughter Arrest

A former employee of a Bloomfield butcher shop who is accused of slaughtering a cow in the parking lot of a Bloomfield Home Depot last month has been charged with cruelty to animals. The incident leading to the arrest happened on July 13 when a young cow at the Saba meat store in Bloomfield got loose and ran across the street to Home Depot. See more on the incident here.

Missing Mom's Shirt

Police found a shirt stained with blood that they believe was the shirt Jennifer Dulos was wearing on the day she disappeared more than two months ago, according to a report in the Hartford Courant. The shirt was among items recovered from trash cans on Albany Avenue in Hartford. A lawyer for Jennifer's estranged husband, Fotis Dulos, said he was not aware of any evidence about what Jennifer was wearing when she disappeared and called the report "dangerous speculation." Hit-and-Run Arrest

The man who was behind the wheel of a vehicle that Hamden and Yale police officers opened fire on in New Haven in April is accused of driving under the influence during a crash that injured a bicyclist in New Haven on Friday morning and was arrested after a chase, according to police. Paul Witherspoon, 21, of Hamden, is facing several charges. See more on the arrest here.

Miracle on the Mountain

Emergency crews rescued a dog who had been missing for five days after slipping her collar at Sleeping Giant State Park. 17-year-old Sadie went missing on Sunday and after days of searching, a hiker heard her howling and found her in a deep ravine. Epic Thrills

Universal Orlando Resort announced Thursday it will be expanding with a new theme park. 'Epic Universe' will be added to the Florida resort, though few details about the expansion were revealed. See more on what was unveiled here.
