Judge Orders Defendant in Teen Assault to Pay $50,000

One of seven Connecticut men who were sued in connection with the sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl in 2009 when they were all middle school students has been ordered to pay the victim $50,000.

A state judge in New Haven issued the award on Monday. The other six men settled claims against them for undisclosed amounts. Court documents don't provide their names because they were juveniles at the time of the assault.

The victim, now 20, told police six boys inappropriately touched her and another took a photo when she was intoxicated at a New Year's Eve party at one of the boys' homes in Madison.

All the boys' parents also were sued and settled.

Five boys were arrested and sentenced as juveniles to probation.
