Killers' Videotape Could See Light of Day

Thirteen-year-old Jajuana Cole of New Haven was gunned down on her doorstep by bullets allegedly meant for someone else in June 2006. The shooters weren't just shooting bullets, they were shooting video. What happens to that video is a matter for the courts to decide.

That videotape is now at the heart of a hearing Thursday at New Britain Superior Court.

The New Haven Register filed a Freedom of Information request to have New Haven police release the tape to the public.

Attorneys for the city of New Haven are appealing the decision and said the tape is with the prosecutor, not the police, and that the prosecutor is not a party to this request.

Several men were convicted for Cole's death. The bullets were apparently meant for a rival gang member and not Cole.

Sources said the videotape shows the young men driving in a car, taking out their guns and firing that fatal bullet.
