A 37-year-old Putnam man is dead after a crash on Interstate 395 South in Killingly Thursday afternoon.
State police responded to a one-car crash on I-395 South, between exit 41 and 38, just before 2:30 p.m. Thursday and said the driver, Jesse Remillard, of Putnam, lost control of his Chevy Trailblazer and went into the dirt median.
While driving on the dirt median, Remillard's vehicle hit a metal guardrail and went airborne, state police said.
After landing, Remillard's vehicle hit the Dog Hill Road overpass bridge abutment and the 37-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident is under investigation.
