Winsted Man in Critical Condition After Granby Crash

    A 58-year-old Winsted man is in critical condition after a two-car crash in Granby on Sunday afternoon.

    Granby police, firefighters and paramedics responded to a two-car crash on at Route 20 and Day Street at 4:16 p.m. and said a 2003 Honda Civic driven by Scott Harper, 58, of Winsted, was traveling westbound on West Granby Road and collided with a 2003 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Jose Carrasquillo, 30, of Enfield, that was heading northbound on Day Street, police said.

    Harper sustained serious injuries and Lifestar helicopter transported him to Hartford Hospital. He was alone in the car and is currently listed in critical condition.

    Carrasquillo and his three passengers, one adult and two children, were not hurt.

    West Granby Road was closed for around four hours as authorities investigated.

    No charges have been filed.
