A little girl from East Lyme made a special trip to Mystic Aquarium Sunday and met a seal that has the same condition she has.
Evie Helms has hydrocephalus, a condition in which fluid accumulates in her brain, and she's gone through four brain surgeries.
Evie and her family love the ocean, seals are one of Evie’s favorite animals and Ziggy Star, a seal at Mystic Aquariums, has the same neurologic condition Evie does and just had brain surgery.
On Sunday, Evie and Ziggy met and formed an amazing bond.
“I think we're going to be talking about this for the rest of our lives,” Evie’s mom, Lauren Helms, said.
Evie and Ziggy are doing well and had a lot of fun meeting each other.
