Loaded Gun Found in Man's Luggage at Bradley

A loaded gun was found in a man's backpack at Bradley International Airport Saturday afternoon.

TSA notified the airport that they found the gun in a carry-on bag during routine screening, according to police.

Police said the handgun contained a 16 round magazine and was loaded with 12 rounds of ammunition, including one round in the chamber.

Jordan Anthony Butler, 24, of South Windsor, said he forgot the gun was in his backpack. He does not have a permit to carry a handgun, police said.

Butler faces charges including carrying a pistol without a permit and illegal possession of a high capacity magazine.

Butler was released on a $1,000 surety bond and is expected to appear in Enfield Superior Court on Aug. 27.
