Loan Manager From Enfield Sentenced to Prison for Embezzlement

A Connecticut woman has been sentenced to prison for embezzling more than $840,000 from the credit union where she worked as a loan manager.

The U.S. Attorney's Office said 43-year-old Pamela Mallory, of Enfield, was sentenced Wednesday to 21 months behind bars and ordered to pay full restitution. Mallory pleaded guilty in May to federal embezzlement.

Prosecutors said Mallory took the money from five home equity lines of credit that she had opened in the name of a customer at the Windsor-Locks-based 360 Federal Credit Union.

Prosecutors said the customer wasn't aware of the loans. They said Mallory made interest payments on the lines of credit from her own checking account to avoid detection and used the proceeds from the embezzlement to pay her own creditors.
