Local Group Makes It Big on RockBand

A Connecticut-based band is not only making it on stage, but they're a video game hit as well.

Mile Marker Zero, from New Haven, is the first local band ever to have its music featured on the wildly popular RockBand video game.

In addition to the songs that come with the game, players can access the RockBand Network (RBN) from their game system to download extra tracks to play along to.

Among the extra songs released on the RBN this spring was Mile Marker Zero's "A Thousand Nights".

Since then, videos have popped up on YouTube of gamers taking their shot at playing the tune.

Just in case you've been in a coma for the last few years, RockBand is a video game that allows players to take turns jamming out to a number of songs using guitar, bass, drum, or vocal tracks.

Three more songs from the Mile Marker Zero’s self-titled debut album will be available for download later this year including "Laceration", "A Kiss to Fix" and "Crimson Red".

The band is currently in pre-production for their first music video.

Mile Marker Zero’s members met when they were students at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury. All were members of the University’s school of music.
