Police ID Suspect, Victims in Love Triangle Fatal Stabbing

A 28-year-old Bridgeport man is dead and a 29-year-old city man is in custody after what appears to be a love triangle gone wrong in Stratford.

Officers were called to 137 Hollister St. around 8:30 a.m. Monday for a report of a stabbing and found Mark Williams, 28, in the street, suffering from multiple stab wounds, police said.

Rebecca Paul-Louis, 33, of 137 Hollister St., was found at her residence, suffering from what police call defensive wounds.  Police later said she had stab wounds to her hands. She was treated at Bridgeport Hospital and released.

Williams, who was Paul-Louis's boyfriend,  was taken to the hospital, where he died, police said.

The woman's ex-boyfriend, identified as Joseph Stanley, 29, was apprehended on Jackson Avenue and charged with first-degree assault, but more charges are expected, police said.

His bond was set at $1 million and he is due in Superior Court in Brideport on Tuesday.
