Malloy Honored in Washington for Housing Efforts

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy is being honored in Washington, D.C. for his efforts to bolster affordable housing in Connecticut.

The National Low Income Housing Coalition is scheduled to present the Democrat with the Edward W. Brook III Housing Leadership Award on Tuesday at the group's annual Housing Leadership Awards Reception at the Washington Court Hotel.

Malloy, who is seeking a second term in office, has advocated spending nearly $750 million to preserve or construction new affordable housing units across Connecticut. Malloy's office said that is the largest investment in affordable housing in the state in decades.
