Malloy to Discuss Connecticut's Affordable Care Act Success in Washington D.C.

The Center for American Progress is welcoming Gov. Dannel P. Malloy to Washington D.C. Tuesday to speak as a distinguished guest about Connecticut's success with Affordable Care Act.

The organization regards Connecticut as a leader in implementing the federal health care act and getting residents enrolled. Center for Progress President and CEO Neera Tanden will moderate the discussion, called "Affordable Care Act Enrollment: Lessons from Connecticut."

"The state of Connecticut, led by Governor Dannel Malloy, has established itself as a leader on marketplace enrollment," the Center for American Progress stated on its website." Connecticut was not only the first state to meet its enrollment goals, but eventually doubled them. As we look forward to the beginning of the next open enrollment period in November, much can be learned from the example of Connecticut and the other top-performing states."

The event starts at 11:30 a.m. and the organization will live stream the discussion on its website.

Later in the afternoon, Malloy is scheduled to be the keynote speaker at the National Association of Insurance Commissioners annual International Insurance Forum at Park Hyatt Washington.

The agenda is available on the association's website.
