Malnourished Pit Bull Found in Farmington Is Improving: Police

A malnourished female pit bull found in Farmington is improving and will soon be available for adoption, according to police.

The dog, Fiona, was brought to the police department on Monday suffering painful hunger but her nutritional needs are being taken care of, Farmington Police said.

“(She) was thin, ribs protruding a little bit," Lieutenant Colin Ryan said. "(But) all in all a happy, healthy dog for lack of a better word."

Fiona was found on Munson Avenue near the UConn Health before she was brought to the police station. It is unclear if the pit bull was dumped or belongs to someone.

According to police, the dog displays no signs of aggression and she is playful, energetic and loves to take rides in the car.
