Man Arrested After Gunshots Detected on Barbour Street in Hartford

Police arrested a Hartford man on gun charges after investigating two instances of gunfire on Barbour Street in the capital city late Monday night.

Jamie Wilson, 22, of Hartford, is facing charges following police investigation into the two Shot Spotter instances of detection of gunfire.

Officers responded to the area of 129 Barbour Street at  10:49 p.m. on Monday after the department's Shot Spotter system detected several gunshots there. A minute later, the Shot Spotter detected gunshots at 51 Barbour Street.

Police found seven 9-millimeter Winchester Luger bullet shell casings on the road near the first address, but didn't locate any physical evidence of shots fired at the second location, police said.

No witnesses or victims were located at either location. Police also checked area hospitals and didn't find any shooting victims.

It's unknown if the two Shot Spotter alerts are from the same incident.

Police investigated further and identified Wilson as a suspect and arrested him on Judson Street near Barbour Street on Tuesday evening.

Hartford police charged Wilson with carrying a pistol without a permit, criminal possession of a firearm, first-degree criminal attempt to commit assault, unlawful discharge of a firearm and first-degree reckless endangerment.

A judge set his bond at $350,000.
