Norwich Police have made an arrest after a nearly six-month investigation into the murder of one woman and the shooting of another at a local restaurant.

David J. Grant, 33 of Brooklyn New York, was arrested and charged with murder, first-degree assault, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a pistol or revolver.

On June 24, Donna Richardson, 45, of New London, was shot and killed around 1:50 a.m. in the parking lot of the Mai Thai Restaurant on Laurel Hill Avenue. Another female was also shot and transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

According to police, a man began shooting after some type of argument at the bar as it was closing for the night. Police do not believe that Richardson was the intended target.

Police in Baltimore, Maryland arrested Grant on unrelated charges. He was held as a fugitive after they discovered he was wanted by Norwich Police.

Grant is currently being held on a $2.1 million bond and is scheduled to be arraigned in Norwich Superior Court on Dec. 11.
