A man faces charges after a 2-year-old in his care was found wandering the streets in Cromwell Saturday.
Police said the 2-year-old was found wandering in the street on Berlin Road (Route 372) near Kirby Road around 6:30 p.m. The child was unhurt and rescued by a passerby.
According to police, 55-year-old George Downer of Cromwell, was supposed to be watching the child. Downer was arrested an charged with second-degree reckless endangerment and risk of injury to a minor. He was released on a $15,000 non-surety bond and is due in court on April 10.
The child was returned to family members.
